Thriving families exhibit

My painting, “Sistah”, during opening night of DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities exhibit with DC Child and Family Services.

I see Thriving Families as the family you choose. Finding your tribe can be powerful, liberating and healing. With this painting, I aspire to capture the essence of what it's like to discover sisterhood.

I hope you all have a chance to view this collection of work by young DC artist at the I (Eye) St Gallery. It will be on display until May 24th!

Honeycomb hideout apparel

This collection was created for the honeycomb hideout music studios staff. The owner and lover of bucket hats asked for a series of pieces that represents his business. Taking what I love most about bees, I created the first piece in the series, the queen bee hat. The sense of loyalty and community bees have goes well with the culture I've witnessed at the honeycomb hideout studios. My favorite piece is the sunflower hat. Which is yours?

Deconstruction Project

This collection is inspired by the Rhode Island School of Design's (RSID) portfolio assignment. They asked for their first year students to choose something and deconstruct it. Deconstruct means to reduce (something) to its constituent parts in order to reinterpret it. My love for elephants inspired the first piece in this collection, and from there I continued to produce pieces of different animals. I hope that you enjoy my progression of work and follow me on my journey to create more. Please, feel free to send comments and/or suggestions in the contact section.
